Parallel Speaker Cabinet Resistance Calculator

Choose the ohms of each cabinet to see the appropriate amp output value.

Remember this rule: the speaker cabinet resistance must be greater than or equal to the amp output. For parallel cabinets the formula is: ohms=1/(1/cab1 + 1/cab2). For speaker cabinets in series (amp -> cab1 -> cab2) simply add the resistance together. For example, two 8 ohm cabinets in series is 16 ohms so set your amp output to 16 (although setting it lower will not harm your amp). And of course, when using a single cabinet the rule above is still true.

This tool is years too late, for the era of big amplifiers on stage is long over!
